SOCIAL WELFARE EXAMINER (HELP PROGRAM)
Jefferson County Department of Social Services is seeking Social Welfare Examiners, whose main function is determining financial eligibility for the various programs administered by the local social services district and/or recommending amounts of assistance in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Salary Range: $24.62 - $30.40 per hour.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Either:
- (A) Completion of two years (60 semester credit hours) of study in a regionally accredited or New York State registered college or university; or.
- (B) Graduation from high school or possession of a high school equivalency diploma and two years of Human Service’s experience; or.
- (C) An equivalent combination of training and experience as defined by the limits of (A) and (B) above.
This is a Hiring Emergency Limited Placement (HELP) Program appointment. This is a non-competitive permanent appointment, and the Civil Service exam will be waived.
